Governor's Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund - University Store

The Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund has approved funding to provide up to $700 per eligible student to offset the cost of course materials and required or recommended supplies (lab supplies, art kits, etc.) purchased through the University Store for the Fall 2023 semester. Students may apply for assistance if they meet the below eligibility requirements and have been directly impacted by COVID-19 through the loss of employment or diminished income by themselves, their children or dependents, their spouse or significant other, and/or their parents, resulting in decreased household income as a result of COVID-19.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate first-time first-year Wyoming resident student
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Priority will be given to Federal Pell Grant eligible students

Eligible students will be offered this resource on a first come, first serve basis. As part of the application and acceptance of this aid, students will be required to participate in 2-4 surveys or focus groups to help the University of Wyoming collect valuable data and opinions on the course material program.

Funds are limited, are not guaranteed, and will only be applied to offset the cost of course materials and required or recommended supplies (lab supplies, art kits, etc.) purchased through the University Store for the Fall 2023 semester. Students will have until August 1, 2023 to apply to consideration. Selected students will be notified via their UWYO email.
