Alumni Association - Native American Scholarship


Funding ($750 per semester) is for eight consecutive semesters, provided the recipient maintains a 3.0 cumulative grade point average while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester.

Recipients must be attending UW at the Laramie campus.

Awardee will also receive a life membership to the UWAA, a $600 value.

Applicants must:

  • be a spring high school graduate with a GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • have UW admission application on file
  • be a member of one of these ethnic groups in the United States: Native American
  • have submitted FAFSA information by close of scholarship application date

Note: This scholarship cannot be awarded to students receiving The UW Trustees’ Scholars Award or the Daniels Scholarship Program.

Describe in essay form why you want to attend and study at the University of Wyoming (other than its beautiful geographical location and a love of outdoor activities). Include future goals, career interests, UW family history, first generation status, what you find unique about UW or any other information you consider pertinent to this application. Essay will be scored on mechanics, style and content and should be clearly written and well organized.
