Nunn Family Scholarship and Excellence Fund in Arts and Sciences
This fund shall be used to A) provide Nunn Family Graduate Fellowships to graduates of the Teton Science School’s Professional Residency in Environmental Education and Natural Science (PREE Program), B) award Nunn Family Scholarships to graduates of The Journeys School at the Teton Science School, and C) foster and enhance the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Wyoming.
The College of Arts and Sciences shall use the net income, as its first priority, to award Nunn Family Graduate Fellowships to candidates for the Master of Science in Natural Science or other related graduate degree programs available at the University of Wyoming to those who have completed the Teton Science School PREE Program. The Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences shall ask the Arts and Sciences Scholarship Committee and one representative of the Teton Science School to serve as the Nunn Fellowship Selection Committee. Nunn Family Fellowships shall be for an amount not to exceed the then current awards for state-supported graduate assistantships. For its second priority, as income permits, the fund may be used to award annual Nunn Family Scholarships for students admitted to or continuing at the University of Wyoming who are graduates of The Journeys School at the Teton Science School. The Nunn Fellowship Selection Committee shall select these scholarship recipients. Scholarships shall be for an amount not to exceed the then current rate for Wyoming resident tuition and fees. When there are no eligible candidates for the Nunn Family Fellowships or Nunn Family Scholarships, or when there are excess funds after awarding fellowships and scholarships to all eligible candidates, income from the Nunn Family Scholarship and Excellence Fund in Arts and Sciences may accumulate for two years. After two years, those excess funds shall serve other uses that the Dean deems helpful for the College’s mission in teaching, research, scholarship, and service. In determining if the account contains income that has accumulated for two years, income used to award Nunn Family Fellowships and Nunn Family Scholarships shall be deemed to have been distributed on a first in, first out basis.
