Wind River Promise Fund
The Wind River Promise Fund was created to support undergraduate students at the University of Wyoming who are enrolled members of the Eastern Shoshone or Northern Arapahoe Tribes. This would include all new first-time, first-year students, new transfer students, and continuing undergraduate students.
The criteria for this scholarship program include:
- Be an enrolled member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe or the Northern Arapaho Tribe.
- Be a Wyoming resident who graduated from a Wyoming high school.
- Be in good academic standing.
- Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate degree-seeking student through UW’s Laramie or Casper campuses. UW Online students are not eligible for these scholarships.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year.
- Required to provide proof of tribal enrollment
The Wind River Promise Fund is intended to cover the full cost of undergraduate tuition and mandatory fees, contingent upon available funds.*
*If available funds are insufficient to cover the full cost of undergraduate tuition and mandatory fees for all recipients that aid year, each qualified recipient will receive a prorated amount based on the total funds available. The UW Board of Trustees reserves the right to change said rates at any time.
For new, first-time, first-year students, the scholarship may be renewed for up to eight semesters, or until the completion of the first bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first. Once it is first distributed, a student has six academic years to receive the scholarship benefits.
For new transfer students, the scholarship may be renewed for up to six semesters, or until the completion of the first bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first. Once it is first distributed, a student has six academic years to receive the scholarship benefits.
For continuing students, the scholarship may be renewed based on the current students’ academic level. The available semester of use is contingent upon prior semesters completed before fall 2026.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
