J.O. Willits Ethics Award
The J.O. Willits Award can support students who consider ethical perspectives and implications, to explore ethics as a field of inquiry, and to encourage ethical behavior and ethical standards in public and private life in the projects they undertake.
The Fund will provide scholarships to students enrolled in or admitted to the University of Wyoming Honors College, subject to the following criteria:
- Applicants must submit a proposed project and include financial need that Funds would help meet

- A description of your project (not more than 2 pages double-spaced; 12 pt font) that is understandable by persons not in the discipline; and a third page with budget information that articulates financial need/costs related to the project
- Have you ever received this award before?
- Please explain the ethical dimension and significance of your project. That is, why is your project meaningful to those who care about ethics? (250-500 words).
- When do you intend to graduate?
- What is your current GPA? If your GPA falls below 3.25 please describe the steps you are taking to meet the goal of 3.25 GPA by graduation.
- I give my consent to have my grades, transcript(s), and/or financial information released to the Willits Ethics Committee. And I also give my consent for my name to be released publicly as the recipient of any scholarship I am awarded.
