Ben and Allene Kohrs Memorial Dietetics Scholarship
The fund will provide scholarships to students enrolled in or admitted to the University of Wyoming Department of Family and Consumer Sciences studying Human Nutrition and Food or the successor(s) thereof. First preference is to award this scholarship to a student enrolled in the Didactic Program in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Wyoming. If no such candidate can be identified, then the scholarship can be made to students enrolled in or admitted to the University of Wyoming Department of Family and Consumer Sciences studying Human Nutrition and Food or the successor(s) thereof.
- The Ben and Allene Kohrs Memorial Scholarship was established by department alum Dr. Karyl (pronounced Carol) Kohrs Rickard in honor of her parents. Karyl was born and raised in Wyoming. She graduated from the department in 1966 and has had a long and fulfilling career in pediatric nutrition at James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. This scholarship is awarded annually to at least one undergraduate in the area of dietetics or human nutrition and food. Outstanding academic performance and contributions to the field are the primary factors used to determine who receives this award.
