Paul and Karleen (Zerrusen) Turner Scholarship in Memory of Tucker Schwengel
The Fund is to support and encourage students from Illinois to pursue educational opportunities at the University of Wyoming.
Funds may be used to provide actual tuition (up to 15 credit hours per semester), fees (mandatory, program, and advising only), and living expenses (housing and food). Any remaining funds may be used to support the student’s indirect costs, not to exceed a student’s university-determined cost of attendance, to students enrolled in or admitted to the University of Wyoming subject to the following criteria:
- Selection of a graduate will be, in order of preference, from the following high schools:
1) Villa Grove High School, 2) Teutopolis High School, 3) Shelbyville High School, or 4) Naperville Central High School (all in Illinois).
- Applicants must have at least a 3.0 high school GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Applicants will be required to submit an essay (500 words or less) describing how this scholarship will make a difference for them.
- Recipients will be eligible for renewal provided they maintain a minimum 3.0 UW cumulative GPA and continuous full-time enrollment as determined by UW.
(Currently, full-time enrollment is defined as 12 hours each fall and spring, with successful completion of 24 credit hours each academic year).
- Scholarships will be awarded for a maximum of ten (10) consecutive semesters (fall/spring semesters only) use or up to the first bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first.
