James E. and Beverly P. Young Engineering Scholarship
The Fund will provide scholarships to students enrolled in or admitted to the University of Wyoming, subject to the following criteria:
- Enrolled as declared majors in any of the following departments: chemical and biomedical engineering, civil and architectural engineering and construction management, electrical engineering and computer sciences, energy and petroleum engineering, and/or mechanical and energy systems engineering, or the successor(s) thereof
- Wyoming residents
- Demonstrate recent community service and/or work experience utilizing engineering skills with special consideration given to applicants whose community service and/or work is related to the construction field
- Preference will be given to Native American students with proof of federally recognized tribal enrollment, with special consideration given to students with proof of tribal enrollment in the Northern Arapaho or Eastern Shoshone tribes. In the event there are no applicants who are enrolled members of a federally recognized Native American tribe, a Wyoming Resident enrolled in any of the departments listed above may be selected
- Recipients may be eligible to renew the award, provided they maintain at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. There are no restrictions on the number of semesters that a recipient may receive the scholarship, as long as they are making satisfactory progress toward a degree

- Please upload documentation of the following: Applicant's recent community service utilizing engineering skills through submission of a Record of Community service, documenting 20 hours by the volunteer organization. In the event an applicant is employed in part-time or full-time work to financially support themselves through school, the community service requirement can be waived, through submission of Proof of Employment from current employer documenting dates of employment, job title, and salary.
