Mary Claire Kaufman Scholarship

This fund shall be used to make scholarship grants to students at UW who have a parent who is either disabled or deceased. To be eligible for this scholarship award an applicant must be a graduate from a Wyoming high school, have or maintain a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and submit an essay describing their personal circumstances. A successful applicant’s essay should include a detailed description of the nature of his/her parent’s disability (or that his/her parent is deceased), how such has impacted him/her and his/her family, the applicant’s current plan to finance his/her education, the expected impact of the scholarship in his/her life, and his/her plans for after graduation. Preference shall be given to full-time undergraduate students with the greatest financial need, as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. It is also the donor’s preference that scholarship recipients receive the scholarship in subsequent academic years throughout their undergraduate tenure at the University of Wyoming as long as they remain eligible.
