Carolyn Bennett Miknis 1959 ReNEW and BRAND Nursing Scholarship

This fund shall be used to make scholarship grants to students of the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing at UW earning their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree through the Bachelor’s Reach for Accelerated Nursing Degree (BRAND) Program, Revolutionizing Nurse Education in Wyoming (ReNEW) program, or a student who may have completed another higher education degree prior to pursuing nursing at UW. To be eligible for this scholarship award an applicant must be a Wyoming resident, be in their junior or senior year, have a minimum GPA of 3.25 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).

Applicants must also write a 1-2 paragraph essay that explains why they chose to pursue nursing, how they envision using their degree and how their previous education or life experiences will help them in this field of study. In addition, applicants are asked to describe their passion in dealing with patients and respect for patient dignity, their ability to understand patient needs and their ability to communicate clearly.
