Trustees' Scholars Award

This award is only available to those students selected to move forward in the Trustees’ Scholars Award process, if you did not receive an email inviting you to complete the next stage, please do not proceed.

The UW Trustees’ Scholars Award is the premier scholarship for the best and brightest Wyoming high school seniors. Building upon the scholarship awarding process and to include consideration of outside of the classroom contributions, the goal is to learn more about student’s academic achievement, goals and aspirations, and academic endeavors.

Students have been identified by the Scholarship Committee based on review of the admission application, high school curriculum, unweighted high school GPA, and ACT/SAT scores.
Students who make it to the second round will be notified and invited to submit the following by December 18, 2024:

  • Two short-answer questions
  • Resume
  • Name and contact information for a High School administrator (Principal or Assistant Principal) or High School counselor, to certify good standing.

The Scholarship Committee will review items submitted to determine who will advance to the final round. Students who are selected for the interview stage will be invited to a two-part interview process:

  • The first part is an online interview component. Details will be shared with students who make it to this stage.
  • The second part is the in-person interview stage. In-person interviews will take place on the UW campus in Laramie. Students will choose one of two dates: either Friday, January 31, 2025, or Friday, February 7, 2025.

Students are encouraged to check their email and junk/spam folder for important information.

Students who receive the Trustees’ Scholars Award will have a four-year scholarship for tuition, mandatory fees, university room and board. To receive room and/or board in years two through four, students are required to reside in University housing and/or utilize a meal plan. Students must maintain a cumulative UW GPA of 3.25 or higher at the end of each academic year with continuous enrollment of 12 hours each fall and spring, with successful completion of 24 credit hours each academic year.
