American Fisheries Society Ron Remmick Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be full time graduate or undergraduate students enrolled at the University of Wyoming in a course of study that demonstrates a focus on fisheries biology and management. Preference for this scholarship award will be given to applicants who also demonstrate, via transcripts and letter of application: superior academic performance, active membership in the University of Wyoming American Fisheries Society Student Subunit, and other involvement in the field of fisheries that indicates commitment to the fisheries profession.

  1. Ron Remmick was a fisheries biologist with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department who devoted his career to the preservation of native aquatic organisms and habitats in Wyoming. In his honor, the Colorado-Wyoming Chapter of the American Fisheries Society provides a scholarship for a student with a full-time enrollment at the University of Wyoming in a graduate or undergraduate course of study that focuses on fisheries biology and management and who is an active member in the University of Wyoming Student chapter of the American Fisheries Society. (If you are not an active member of the UW chapter of the AFS, you are not eligible for this award).
