Native American and Indigenous Studies General Application
Applicant must plan to attend the University of Wyoming as a full-time student (Twelve or more credit hours required for undergraduate students. Nine or more credit hours required for graduate students). Applicant must be American Indian and proof of tribal enrollment must be submitted with the completed application materials. A minimum of a 2.0 UW GPA must be maintained in order for any scholarship awarded to be continued.
Selection Criteria: Selection will be based on: scholastic ability and achievement; demonstrated leadership; participation in extracurricular activities; potential to contribute to the American Indian community upon graduation.
Amount of Awards: The Native American and Indigenous Studies Scholarship Committee will award competitively several scholarships of varying amounts dependent upon availability of funds.

- Please provide proof of your tribal affiliation and/or enrollment documentation of your Native American community.
- The applicant must submit a one page typed personal statement which should include but not be limited to: a brief review of his/her American Indian backgrount, scholastic ability and achievements; leadership experience; participation in extra-curricular and community-related activities (especially past and current American Indian involvement); career goals; and any other information relevant to his/her application.
- Two Letters of Recommendation from former or current professors:
- Students already attending the University of Wyoming should submit letters from University of Wyoming professors. If letters from formers professors are used, the student must have taken a class from or done research with the professor within the last 12 months.
