Jack and Eileen Routson Scholarship in Agriculture
The gift will fund one recipient annually for $4,800 each to be awarded half in the fall and half in the spring. Financial need is a factor. In addition, the students must be attending UW on a full time basis; majoring in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology and Management, particularly those planning to become game wardens; of at least junior standing; and have at least a C average, which is acceptable if the student is demonstrating a desire to improve. Students are eligible to receive the scholarship in subsequent years if they have demonstrated scholastic improvement as determined by GPA and/or faculty feedback. Master’s degree students also are eligible for these scholarships as are non-traditional students, including online students, as long as they are enrolled full-time. Community College transfer students who have been at UW for at least one year may be considered for these scholarships. If a student drops out of school or fails to meet any of the specified criteria for the scholarship, the scholarship funding needs to be returned. Students may use the funds for any expenses.
