The Tome Scholars to Fellows Program

To support women or minority students enrolled at the University of Wyoming enrolled in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, or Math (STEAM) degree programs. The FUND will provide students, both Wyoming and non-Wyoming residents, with full cost of attendance for four (4) years, and stipends to participate in one (1) international field course and one (1) community service experience. The FUND will also provide for dedicated staff and/or administrator costs. The scholarship is renewable should the selected student maintain a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) grade point average or equivalent annually.

The Tome Scholars will be selected by the Dean of the Haub School of Environment & Natural Resources, in consultation with the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.

A Tome Scholar is a high achieving woman and/or minority student whose major area of educational focus is in at least one of the following areas: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM). Once named a Tome Scholar, students will receive a scholarship for 100% of tuition reimbursement, room and board, as well as funding for one or more unique experiences.

You may be asked to participate in an interview process.

This award may be renewed for up to 4 years and will cover the following not to exceed a student’s individual Cost of Attendance:

  1. Undergraduate tuition for up to 18 credits per semester – summer is not an allowable semester for funding beyond the special field courses noted below.
  2. Mandatory fees which include: Student Services Fees, Student Mandatory Fees, Advising Fees, Program Fees, Online Delivery Fees.
  3. On campus room (based on a standard double room) or equivalent sum if living off campus.
  4. On campus meal plan (based on an unlimited access) or equivalent sum if living off campus.
  5. $1,000 per year towards books and supplies.
  6. Up to $6,000 for one of our J-term, May term or summer place-based/international course offerings if tuition and fees are billed through UW or a summer research/internship experience in consultation with student’s Haub School advisor for each of the first 3 years as a Tomé Scholar.

The conditions to retain and/or renew this award:

  1. Students must maintain a 3.0 UW cumulative GPA with continued enrollment in a Haub School of Environment & Natural Resources degree program.
  2. Continuous enrollment in a minimum of 12 hours each fall and spring, with successful completion of at least 24 credit hours each academic year. The Haub School may use their own discretion should selected students not be enrolled full-time.
  3. Scholarships will be awarded for a maximum of eight (8) consecutive semesters use or up to the first bachelor’s degree whichever comes first.
  4. Eligibility for the award will be reviewed at the end of every summer semester. If the scholarship is lost, it cannot be reinstated even if the requirements are met at a later date.
