Philo S Bennett
The Philo S. Bennett Prize is a cash prize awarded to a junior, senior, or graduate student for the best essay discussing the principles of free government written during the previous calendar year (spring, summer or fall term). Papers considered can be written for courses in American Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, UW Honors Program or other appropriate disciplines; for Master’s theses or other capstone projects in a master’s degree program in American Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, or other appropriate disciplines; or specifically for consideration of this prize. Nominations for the Bennett Prize can be submitted by students or members of the UW faculty.
