VERNON K. GALE SCHOLARSHIP

VERNON K. GALE SCHOLARSHIP

Vernon Gale was a native of Cheyenne, a star high school athlete, and a good looking dude to boot. He came to the University of Wyoming and starred on the Gator Bowl team as a wingback, and then went on to marry one of the prettiest gals on campus, Lindy Lou Storey, his high school sweetheart in Cheyenne. Vernon Gale went on to get his Ph.D. and taught physical education at the University of Michigan. Vern and Lindy had three daughters. When Vern died, Lindy set up a scholarship in his memory (1989) in the School of Physical and Health Education, now titled the Division of Kinesiology and Health. Within a few years of establishing the Vernon Gale Scholarship, Lindy died. Vernon and Linden Gale were great young people and wonderful assets on the University of Wyoming campus in their heyday.
