The Peter and Margaret Tobin Memorial Award

Peter and Margaret Tobin, immigrants from County Cork, Ireland in the early 1900’s, came to Midwest, Wyoming to ranch and raise their family. For many years they raised sheep and ran a successful ranching operation. Upon retirement, they took up permanent residence in Casper close to extended family and friends. Peter and Margaret had five children: Robert E., Richard A., Margaret C., Peter L., and Mary J. Each of these children graduated from the University of Wyoming and developed their professions accordingly, “Bob” in Engineering, “Dick” in Law, “Peggy” in Guidance and Counseling, “Larry” in Pre-Med, and “Mary Jo” in Business. Peter and Margaret were the epitome of living a sound, hard-working and happy life. They had been married for 50 years in 1966.
