The Linda Lockman Johnson Accounting Scholarship

Linda Lockman attended the University of Wyoming where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 1990 and met her future husband, Dave Johnson, who obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/MIS. After graduating, she began her 31-year career with the State of Wyoming and obtained her CPA license and Certified Financial Examiner (CFE) designation. She began her career at the Wyoming Department of Audit where she spent five years and then transferred to the Wyoming Department of Insurance where she worked for twenty-six years and retired as the Deputy Insurance Commissioner. During her tenure at the Department of Insurance, she testified on various insurance bills at the Wyoming Legislature and helped train insurance regulators throughout the country. She also traveled to Bangkok, Thailand to promote the U.S. system of financial insurance regulation. She established this scholarship to help promote the field of accounting and inform students that there are a variety of career choices and opportunities available to them.
