SALZMAN-SHIPPEN SCHOLARSHIP
Linnea Salzman Hill was a Wyoming native, born in Casper, Wyoming, and a member of the first graduating class of Kelly Walsh High School in 1967. She followed in her mother’s footsteps and attended and graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1971. Linnea chose to live in Denver and helped to raise two children with her husband Lee.
Linnea was successfully employed in the energy business in Denver, achieving the landman designation and earning her Certified Professional Landman (CPL) title. She was a detailed individual and prided herself in completing projects for her firm. She was passionate about her family, friends and colleagues in the work place. She will be remembered for those qualities.
Bessie Alberta Shippen, Linnea’s mother, was born in Manville and graduated from the University in 1940 with an Education degree. After raising her two children in Casper she was employed as an educator in the Casper school system for more than three decades.
Both women took pride in being college educated in the Equality State and both traveled extensively in retirement.
